Ten round wooden rods uniformly coloured in red. The shortest rod is 40mm long and every subsequent rod increases in length by the length of the shortest rod i.e 40mm. The longest rod is 400mm. This sensorial educational aid helps children to understand the concept of length and also lays the foundation for their introduction to math concepts. Red Rods are styled on Montessori principles. This product is made using traditional lacware handicraft technique and is coloured with natural dyes. Dimension: 10 round wooden rods of 18mm diameter, varying in size from 40mm to 400mm. Age: 2.5 yrs to 6 yrs

Use: Purpose. The Red Rods are introduced to children from 2.5 to 6 years of age. This is often after they have worked on preliminary sensorial materials, such as the Knobbed Cylinders, Pink Tower, and Brown Stairs. The direct purpose of the Red Rods is to develop the child’s visual and muscular perception of length
