What is Shilajit?
Shilajit is a naturally occurring mineral-rich resin found in high mountain rocks. It is a dark, sticky fluid that comes out of cracks in the rock. Its healing and revitalizing properties made it popular as ‘black gold of Kashmir’.
Shilajit is collected extensively from the Kashmiri Himalayan regions. It is then treated and filtered to remove impurities. This technique preserves essential minerals and fulvic acid.
Shilajit is consumed in very little amounts, almost the size of a pea. Over the years, shilajit has been used as an Ayurvedic medicine due to its energy-boosting properties, which naturally promote immunity and stamina.
How is Shilajit collected?
Shilajit is not directly cultivated anywhere like the plants. It is a naturally occurring substance that comes from natural sources. As organic stuff in mountain rocks decomposes under intense pressure over time, it forms with time.
This resin is collected from Himalayan or high-altitude rocks when it oozes out of fissures during the warmer months. After that, this rock-like material was immersed in water for the entire day. This results in a dark water that is further processed to get rid of impurities. The water is then boiled for hours in order to thicken it. This is how Shilajit is collected. The final resin contains fulvic acid, essential minerals, and bioactive ingredients for safe consumption and medicinal applications.
