The product is made from corn-starch derived 100% compostable bioplastic materials. Under controlled composting conditions the material gets degraded within 180 days leaving no toxic residues or microplastics. The material was tested for biodegradation and compostability by CIPET and certified as “compostable” by CPCB (IS/ISO 17088). The bags are water-resistant and leak-proof and hence can handle both dry waste and wet waste.
