What is bilona ghee?
Bilona ghee is a traditional Indian clarified butter. It is produced by churning curd with a wooden beater called Bilona to extract butter, which is then slow-cooked into ghee.
What is the bilona ghee process?
There are only 3 steps to make ghee from milk.
1. At first, take lukewarm milk and add some curd into the milk to ferment yogurt.
2. Use a wooden churner, also called a bilona, to gradually separate butter from yogurt. This step preserves nutrients and beneficial bacteria.
3. After that, heat the collected butter on low flame and cook until milk solids turn golden brown. Cool and strain to obtain ghee.
